What is FLYA
FLYA is a week-long festival of cultural events across the capital showcasing the creative work of over 2,500 young artists from London.
The festival's content is cultivated from FLYA's members - individuals, youth organisations and schools. This membership is formed into 'creative clusters' representing four regions of London: North, South, East and West.
The festival week has four elements:
Trafalgar Square
The launch in Trafalgar Square on the afternoon of Saturday 16th April. This will feature 500 performers across a variety of creative disciplines.
3in1
The '3in1+1' event on Tuesday 19th and Saturday 23rd April which sees different cultural institutions open their doors to unique performances by 13-25 year-olds.
Festival of London Youth Arts Awards
The Festival of London Youth Arts Awards on Sunday 24th April which will celebrate the achievements of individual and group performers from the creative clusters.
North, West, East and South
The fourth element is the series of creative performances taking place throughout the festival week within each creative cluster. It is the day-to-day organisation of projects and constant inspiration within these creative clusters that is at the heart of FLYA's purpose - to allow young people to express themselves creatively and to develop their skills that would ultimately lead to professional involvement in the creative industries.
The festival week should help establish FLYA as the leading cultural event for young people in the capital.
